Man what a day! The only problem was it was over too fast. Thank you both for your kindness and all your help. All the time I spend with sons is great but to spend it with good people also, makes it priceless. Have a great day!

I can't tell you how much the guys enjoyed the Norm Invitational.
The wind kicked our ass, but we did catch some fish. You have the best guides. I believe Steve would have stayed out all day if we
wanted him to. I am so glad my brother got to fish with you. This was his first trip and you guys caught some nice fish. You always make us feel right at home at the lodge and I think I gained a pound or two from the Smoked Ribs that were out of this world.
Looking forward to the next trip and guitar picking.

Kris,

Thank you for calling to check on us. Eric was home by about 10PM last night and I made it home about 1PM today. It was well worth the 600 miles each way to get to fish with you. We had a wonderful time - the fishing was great, the accommodations were excellent, and the food was outstanding. No doubt, we'll be looking to come back soon.

Thanks Again,

Mel

Kris, thanks again, Mark and Trish had a blast, just being on the water. James did a great job not just with the fish, laughing and joking, and of course giving me a hard time for missing fish. He made the trip really enjoyable for everyone. You’ve got a great business going for you and Wendi along with your family of Guides. Hope to see you soon, I know Mark and Trish will be return customers.

Hey Kris! Thanks again for the great fishing trip and EXTREME patience you had helping us get our limit. You are truly a professional and know how to produce even when the fish aren't biting and the conditions are all wrong. This sister's trip will always be a wonderful memory.

Kris, I finally got around to mounting the redheads and pintails from our trip and they were in excellant condition. It was great being able to pick out the biggest sprigs from the decoying groups. If my clients want a trophy redhead or pintail I send them your way! Thanks again - Matt Smith, Bird Taxidermist

Kris/Wendi; great fun again. I think we have a new fishing partner. Melinda can't quit talking about the trip and asking everyone to raise their hands that caught a fish before 8:00 am. Of course she is the one raising her hand. Thanks again for great fun and fellowship. See you in the spring.
Can you please email me a picture of Melinda with her fish?

thanks Ron

Double K, thank you for the kind note. It has been a rough couple of weeks, but we are all hanging tough. Unfortanely, you don't always realize how important those memories are until they're all you've got. Thanks to you, my Dad started fishing again and we were able to enjoy a ton of great times with Grizwald. He loved and cherished the time we spent with you and Wendy, especially at the lodge. And for that, we will always be grateful. Nobody was expecting him to go so soon. I wanted to share this with you, as I was putting together pictures we had of him for the memorial service, 60% of the good ones were from our trips with you. Tim, Joey and I hope to get down and fish with you sometme this summer. Take care,

Matt

Kris and Wendy,
Thanks for an awesome weekend! My dad, brother, and I really enjoyed ourselves. Dinner was superb on Fri night (cookies were delicious), the accomodations were clean and super-comfy, and of course the fishing on saturday was excellent. I'm real glad we made it down there and we can't wait to line up another trip.

Kris, Wanted to share with everyone the great memories you provided. It was a mom and daughter weekend to remember. Thank you for all the fun, great food, experience and most of all your amazing patience. I don't know how you drew the short straw to have two women, but you gave us an amazing experience.

Kris and Wendi,

I want to tell you that you are excellent hosts and that the lodge is execellent.

I really enjoyed the fishing excursion on June 29, and for the guidance that Kris provided. Catching the 25.5 inch Trout was definiting a treasurable moment in my life. I have never had that experince on light tackle.

I highly recommend Castaway lodge and Captain Kris, Wendi for the excellent meal.

Hats off to you all!

Had to leave Trinity to stomp on some new ground, My son Sterling, his buddy Willie and I fished Saturday and Sunday out of Seadrift with Castaway Lodge. Our guide Steve worked his tail off looking for fish both days but the front that blew in Saturday really effected the bite. Saturday we managed to catch about 25 small trout maybe three keepers, Sunday we went to find reds and we managed to find them with several over the slot, but these fish were really not eating and had to be really be worked over to get a hit. Color really did not seem to matter we took fish on just about any color lure we threw but never got enough bites to set a pattern. All in all it was a good trip and i would do it again.

Two friends and I headed down to Seadrift to take advantage of the February Special at the Castaway Lodge. The Lodge did not disappoint. The food and the lodging was great as was the fishing. We landed 9 reds between the three of us even though the conditions were far from perfect. Headed back to the lodge for a nice send off meal. If you get a chance I highly recommend Kris and Wendi Kelly and the Castaway Lodge.

To everyone at Castaway Lodge,

I just wanted to thank you, James, Steve and Wendi for the best trip any of us have ever had. I knew it was going to be great but the effort all you put forth made it awesome. Getting to shoot Redheads would have been enough in itself (which I greatly appreciate) but getting 2 Canvasbacks and limits every day was icing on the cake. I can guarantee as long as I am breathing we will be back next year and the year after that and the year after that. I know its not easy doing what you do and I greatly appreciate all the hard work that you and everyone else did to make our time there one to remember for years to come. Again thanks so much, tell everyone hello and I will be calling at the beginning of next year to book another weekend.

On another note we thought traveling there was bad, it didn't hold a candle to traveling back. We got delayed until 8:45pm in Victoria, missed our connecting flight in Houston finally got to a hotel at 12am, got up the next morning at 4:30am to catch our 7:20 am flight back to Raleigh. Luckily our bags made back though. With all of that once it was over it didn't even put a blemish on the whole experience. This is because the time there and the hunts were that good. You got a great bunch of Guides, an awesome lodge, fantastic hunting and some seriously good food. I can't wait till next year and just wanted to let you know that what you do is appreciated. Be safe, tell everyone hello and save us some ducks for next year.

I know you all will, but don't work too hard.

Your #1 fan,
-Greg Dunn
