I can't tell you how much the guys enjoyed the Norm Invitational.
The wind kicked our ass, but we did catch some fish. You have the best guides. I believe Steve would have stayed out all day if we
wanted him to. I am so glad my brother got to fish with you. This was his first trip and you guys caught some nice fish. You always make us feel right at home at the lodge and I think I gained a pound or two from the Smoked Ribs that were out of this world.
Looking forward to the next trip and guitar picking.

Kris,

Thank you for calling to check on us. Eric was home by about 10PM last night and I made it home about 1PM today. It was well worth the 600 miles each way to get to fish with you. We had a wonderful time - the fishing was great, the accommodations were excellent, and the food was outstanding. No doubt, we'll be looking to come back soon.

Thanks Again,

Mel

Kris, thanks again, Mark and Trish had a blast, just being on the water. James did a great job not just with the fish, laughing and joking, and of course giving me a hard time for missing fish. He made the trip really enjoyable for everyone. You’ve got a great business going for you and Wendi along with your family of Guides. Hope to see you soon, I know Mark and Trish will be return customers.

Hey Kris. Thanks. We all had a great time fishing both days. It was a joy seeing both sons and wife enjoying time on the water.

Had to leave Trinity to stomp on some new ground, My son Sterling, his buddy Willie and I fished Saturday and Sunday out of Seadrift with Castaway Lodge. Our guide Steve worked his tail off looking for fish both days but the front that blew in Saturday really effected the bite. Saturday we managed to catch about 25 small trout maybe three keepers, Sunday we went to find reds and we managed to find them with several over the slot, but these fish were really not eating and had to be really be worked over to get a hit. Color really did not seem to matter we took fish on just about any color lure we threw but never got enough bites to set a pattern. All in all it was a good trip and i would do it again.

Two friends and I headed down to Seadrift to take advantage of the February Special at the Castaway Lodge. The Lodge did not disappoint. The food and the lodging was great as was the fishing. We landed 9 reds between the three of us even though the conditions were far from perfect. Headed back to the lodge for a nice send off meal. If you get a chance I highly recommend Kris and Wendi Kelly and the Castaway Lodge.

To everyone at Castaway Lodge,

I just wanted to thank you, James, Steve and Wendi for the best trip any of us have ever had. I knew it was going to be great but the effort all you put forth made it awesome. Getting to shoot Redheads would have been enough in itself (which I greatly appreciate) but getting 2 Canvasbacks and limits every day was icing on the cake. I can guarantee as long as I am breathing we will be back next year and the year after that and the year after that. I know its not easy doing what you do and I greatly appreciate all the hard work that you and everyone else did to make our time there one to remember for years to come. Again thanks so much, tell everyone hello and I will be calling at the beginning of next year to book another weekend.

On another note we thought traveling there was bad, it didn't hold a candle to traveling back. We got delayed until 8:45pm in Victoria, missed our connecting flight in Houston finally got to a hotel at 12am, got up the next morning at 4:30am to catch our 7:20 am flight back to Raleigh. Luckily our bags made back though. With all of that once it was over it didn't even put a blemish on the whole experience. This is because the time there and the hunts were that good. You got a great bunch of Guides, an awesome lodge, fantastic hunting and some seriously good food. I can't wait till next year and just wanted to let you know that what you do is appreciated. Be safe, tell everyone hello and save us some ducks for next year.

I know you all will, but don't work too hard.

KK and Wendi -

We received your E- mail about the Great Thanksgiving Blast and we can’t stop thinking about what an over the top time it was for all of us! We find ourselves daydreaming about “nothing but ducks dragging toe-nails”, Wendi’s incredible cooking, your great hospitality, and great conversation, and laughing about our lucky Hail Mary shots and, of course, the easy ones we missed – and most of all, wishing we were back “home” there again already.
Wendi, you are incredible! KK, it’s amazing how you always go the extra mile and are able to get us on some terrific hunting. Please pass on to James and Jake, our thanks for the great fishing experience and for a job well done on the ducks and geese– and for plenty of good laughs with them too!

Thank you for more than everything for allowing us to be a special part of your family, hanging out with you guys in the Lodge, and enjoying another great Thanksgiving Blast and Throw Down!
For now, we’ll have to be happy with visions dancing in our heads of turkey and dressing and all the fix-ins…awesome duck hors d’oeuvres…fantastic fried shrimp and trout and crab cakes…fabulous steaks and pork chops on the Barby…baked potatoes loaded to the gills…our choice of every kind of incredible pie…….and of course, how can we forget all those “locked up” teal and gadwalls and pintails and snows and specs!
Thanks again for such a great time! Our blessings to you and yours for a continued outstanding level of business this year and for a fantastic Christmas!

Kris,

Thanks for a great weekend with you and Wendi. It's a toss-up as to which was better, the fishing or the food! Terry & I will be back with our wives soon. I'm still distressed about the 38 incher that got away! Thanks again and look forward to seeing you soon.

Dear Kris and Wendi,

Our trip to your lodge was even better than Brad had described. Not only was the fishing good, but the hospitality was icing on the cake.

Robert, Pete and Billy enjoyed a new way of fishing. I've wondered how many fewer fish would have been landed had not you been helping us. Billy especially appreciated the time you took with him.

Good luck with your lodge. You seem to be on the right track.

Kris & Wendi,

We appreciate everything you did for us. Staying at The Lodge was definitely an experience we will not forget. Capt. James was definitely in the groove despite the conditions. We still managed a few yellow mouth Trout and one nice 22” fish which was pretty awesome. Everyone had a good time and there will be future trips to come, that for sure!

Kris,

Thanks for the pictures, the experience, and the lessons learned. Being a rookie and a first timer on the Coast, I did not know what to expect…but with some excellent coaching and great hospitality, I have come home with some great memories and an eagerness to re-visit The Lodge for another trip. You can count on hearing from me again soon.

Kris,

We had a wonderful time on our weekend fishing trip thanks to you and Wendi. I would like to schedule another trip or two with you. I hope the storm doesn’t bother you too much. Thanks again for a great trip. Tell Wendi the Ponchartrain sauce was a hit and I have given out the recipes 4 times for “Wendi’s Ponchartrain”.
