Lots of fishing going on here in February with the weather just absolutely gorgeous.  Water levels have finally dropped out to seasonal norms and everyone is commenting on how low it is at present.  That's got us set up to work the drains and bayou mouths of area fallouts along with deeper back lakes and swales.  Capt. Chris Cady reported just an incredible trip with guests of The Porter Co. on Friday airboat redfishing the back lakes.  He said it was a "visual blowout" with fish tightened up in what little water was available.  We also welcomed guests of Sun City in Georgetown for two days of awesome fishing working bait and artificial lures.

Lodge News

On Saturday we were in Kerrville at the Hill Country Shooting Sports Center for the 2016 annual SCI banquet with Capt. Donnie Heath having the honors.  Turnout was great and it was a pleasure visiting with everyone.  On the construction front, lots of movement both horizontally and vertically this week with more to come.  Stay tuned by joining our newsletter.  With our capacity moving to 40 guests with indoor dining and conferencing for the same, we're pleased to see longtime clients ramping up their utilization footprint.  Sulzer just booked a three day stay for 20 guests and waterfowl bookings are already dominating the new facility for the 2016 and 17 season.

From The Family of Castaway Lodge, to yours, come see us if you get a chance!....
