What a great week here at The Lodge! It was “the week” for big Trout and line stripping Redfish along with a few heartbreaks, big winds, busted lines, and learning curves. That’s what it’s all about and what a load of fun and camaraderie. It all boils down to relationships and the bonds formed between our Guides and those looking to us for guidance, action, technique, and execution.

Mid week we welcomed UniCare/Wellpoint and their guests to the Lodge. With puffing winds and jacked up conditions, we dug in managing full limits of Redfish and oversized fish for the two days we fished including some decent catch and release action. Wendi rolled out the boiled shrimp appetizers and her famous Rib Eyes the first night. Capping some great action on the water, the crew wanted to “taste their catch”. Wendi set the hook with her “signature Blackened Redfish with a boiled shrimp/lump crab meat and oyster Ponchartrain Sauce. It was “to live for”. 

Capt. Shawn Gascamp reported a slow grind with half limits of Trout and a few Redfish throwing PCS on fishable structure including mud/grass, sand, and shell. Sunday was another story as we welcomed a crew from Lawrence Marshall Dodge. Arriving at the ramp, I noticed that the water had come up considerably. Fishing amid low water of late,  ...
