Quick rebounding in Bay waters is evident when the wind backs down a little bit and the tide comes roaring in. Jockeying High and Low Pressure has kept the wind on us pretty good during the last week. Strong fishing has pushed us through what at times appears to be impenetrable conditions. Currently, we’ve got winds leaning out of the West and SW which has dropped water levels in the bay roughly 8” to a foot. Buried in water during the last Low Pressure system in from Mexico, the fish didn’t like it much and neither did I. I welcomed the water drop today and Trout limits corresponded for Archie S. party from Georgetown.
The Lodge welcomed a Real Estate Group from Austin during the week along with the Joe V. party from Georgetown and the Jim S. party from Baytown. I led Joe V. and guests to 28 Trout to 20” working with gusting winds and remaining T-storms from the outgoing Low Pressure system. Capt. James Cunnigham managed 23 Trout to 20” on Trout and lost a couple of nice Redfish at the boat. Capt. Steve Boldt wade fished the Port O’Connor area to Trout limits working sand/grass using live bait.
Mid to late week forecast looks good with High Pressure settling in over the Bay waters with a weak to moderate onshore flow. Should make for some great memories!
Come home when you can!
