Guided Fishing, Seadrift In Focus

Our fishing guides are great entertainers as well as guides that work together as a team. Castaway Lodge's Team Wolf Pack is a unit of exceptional watermen that operate with the "team concept" and borrowing from the lessons of our military breathren, they stick or shoot, move and communicate exceptionally well. They work hard to help each other with the broader goal of total client success and appreciation in mind.

Our Focus

You'll find them targeting Trout and Redfish over various shallow bays and back lake estuarties. Options and approaches include wade fishing, airboat fishing, boat and drift fishing, flyfishing, and kayak fishing. After dark, we offer a number of great trips including night wades with artificial and live bait; lighted boat fishing; flounder gigging; and Night Vision hog hunts.

Fishing Report

We've been working in unstable weather as lingering cold fronts pass our way. We've seen some spotty showers, big winds, and chilly temperatures. That's had us pushing the boudnaries in extreme shallows working schools of Trout, Redfish, and Black Drum. The big pulls of Spring have been ever present. On big tide fallouts we see the Black Drum running for the deeper back lakes while Redfish hang tight. Trout to 20" have been coming in with best numbers on wade fishing trips using topwaters and soft plastics. The Wolf Pack has been bending the boards with solid limits and airboat redfishing trips continue to be a lot of fun.

Wade Fishing Intensive

The next month will find us transitioning to a focus on Trout using live finfish. They'll be pretty immature to start the month and the absolute most lethal approach will be using them on wade fishing trips. Bottoms are pretty hard on these trips so clients just need to be able to get in the water. We recommend wearing ligth weight fishing pants that quick dry. This will keep any hot jelly off your legs and you can use anything from old tennis shoes to wading boots. We've got plenty of wading boots for rent at the lodge if needed and of course we have waders as well but they're really not needed by then. Check out our Photo Gallery

We've got lots and lots of great fishing ahead of us. So if you're planning a trip, get started [HERE]{https://www.seadriftbayfishing.com/calendar)
