Trout Keep Coming, Ducks Building

Castaway Lodge Seadrift Report
By Capt. Kris Kelley

Impressive Trout fishing is coinciding nicely with a reasonable opener for ducks given a lack of weather. Solid Trout to 20" have been coming over Oyster shell and scattered mud/shell using live shrimp and soft plastics. I saw reasonable Redhead movement this morning on the bays and it looks like they are building in numbers. Capt. James managed to dig out full limits with a 5 man group opening morning including Teal, Widgeon, and Shoveler. Pintail, Gadwal, and Widgeon dominated on Sunday.

The weather forecast keeps threatening a strong front but it keeps retreating so it looks like more of the same tomorrow with maybe a little improvement in velocity out of the North.

Things are setting up nicely as we approach the Holiday stretch, come see us when you get a chance!
