Castaway Lodge Seadrift Report
By Capt. Kris Kelley
Sponsored by: Mercury Marine; Air Ranger Airboats; Haynie Bay Boats; Baysport Marine Victoria; Castaway Rods; JL Marine; Pure Fishing; Corrosion X; and, Bob's Machine Shop.
September's whirlwind of outdoor activity continues at a frenzied pace with Dove, Alligator, early Teal, and great fishing all coincides. Teal action has slowed a bit with wing-shooters taking less than full limits the last couple of days. The South Zone dove season kicked off with a bang with lots of limits falling to the guns with mixed White-Wing; Euro; and Mourning dove.
Fishing Scene
Fishing has been just awesome here lately with fast action on solid Redfish and Trout to 26" coming for those folks willing to get wet. We've been on a bull tide and that's had the boys pushed way back in the back country "ultra-shallow" where big schools of Black Drum and Redfish are tearing it up.
Flounder Gigging
Lots of solid flounder being taken at night over shin deep water and hard bottoms. Lots of fun, come get on them before the season ends 10/31.
We've got a heavy schedule running into January with weekdays more readily available for anyone wanting a little "stay-cation". Come see us!
