Seadrift Riviera: Topwaters Pacing Live Bait

Castaway Lodge Seadrift Report
By Capt. Kris Kelley

Sponsored by: MercuryMarine; Air Ranger Airboats; Haynie Bay Boats; Baysport Marine Victoria; JL Marine; Pure Fishing; Corrosion X; and, Bob's MachineShop.

Rugged bite for boatbound anglers as big winds continue to keep our heads on a swivel.  Alternatively, wade fishermen here at the lodge are just smashing the Trout with Capt. Donnie Heath reporting over 75 fish caught and released with only a handful of undersized fish.  Artificial guys are having a field day wading with Danny E. thumping 20 fish on topwater while releasing them to fight another day.  That my friends is keeping pace with live bait approaches and that's a great sign of how concentrated the schools are.  Solid fish as well with numerous fish over 20".  Bottom line, "sometimes you just have to get wet".  Check out the video from today.

Flounder Gigging

Fish continue hitting the beaches with steady predictability of late with Capt. Jeff Larson reporting a number of fish over 5Lbs and plenty of numbers. We now have a Floundering Boat as well for guests unable to walk the shorelines wade gigging.  Capt. Pat Lester would love to get you in the action.  Contact us for availability and scheduling.
