Castaway Lodge Seadrift Report
By Capt. Kris Kelley

Sponsored by: Mercury Marine; Air Ranger Airboats; Haynie Bay Boats; Baysport Marine Victoria; JL Marine; CorrosionX; Pure Fishing; and, Bob's Machine Shop.

Covering lots of water here lately as we continue to head closer to the end game in the 2017 cool to warm transition.  Capt. Terry Spoonemore reported excellent action on Redfish pushing the outside of the slot and Trout to 18" with guests.  Capt. James Cunningham reported solid Trout and Redfish action wade fishing in and around storms early week.  We've got some Trout close but you have to keep an eye on turbidity levels day to day and then strike the appropriate structure when it cleans up.  Wade fishing was outstanding for James again today working area shell pads with live bait taking full limits of Trout with part of the 13 guests of Richards Hot Tubs & Spas.  Capt. Jeff Larson reported scattered Redfish  Live Croaker are starting to make their way to a few bait camps which is very early for us.  Come see us when you get a chance!

Airboat Trips

Capt. Chris Cady reported schools tightening up a bit in the back lakes and solid "takers" for his part of 24 guests of RNDC here for a two day event.  They had a blast working the back marsh environs and watching fish cruise the shallows.

Flounder Gigging

Stick and move will be the "buzz phrase" late week and it's only going to get better from here.

The fishing is always best when you can get away!
