Castaway Lodge Seadrift Report
By Capt. Kris Kelley
Heavy On The Reds

Weather for the weekend worked out perfectly for fishermen on Saturday with guests taking full limits of Redfish. There were a few scattered showers but overall it was pleasant. Heck, the fish are already wet and they don't mind! We were working mud/grass with bait in pretty big winds.
Big Texas Lizards
We continue to struggle with Alligators but the rapid rebound in temperatures and sunshine is getting ready to whipsaw us in the opposite directions with "too many gators". We managed an 8' gator for John G. and his uncle Doug R. while taking a solid 10' alligator this morning for Gerald B. and son Travis. We expect to take a look at it tomorrow with much improved feeding activity ahead of a heavy schedule of hunts early week.
Teal Hunting
Teal hunting continued productive but miserable in the heavy rains of Friday. Shooting continued strong into the weekend as well.
We'll revisit dove tomorrow and look for improved action in the drier conditions. We're looking for more of a cool snap to get the Trout action turned back around. This last one isn't going to get the bait migration underway but it's a building process.
