Redfish Take Top Spot, Trout Push 23"

Castaway Lodge Seadrift Report
By Capt. Kris Kelley

Sponsored by: Mercury Marine; Air Ranger Airboats; Haynie Bay Boats; Baysport Marine Victoria; Castaway Rods; JL Marine; Pure Fishing; and, Bob's Machine Shop.

Big winds and gutted water has fishing "on the bubble" taking a defensive posture with no definitive outlook other than lots of challenges. We managed to beat up limits of Redfish today along with a few Trout to 23" with other boats near limits on Redfish. A weather advisory came across my desk with big storms in the forecast for tonight. We certainly got drenched a few times today.

Our young guns are out of school and decking for us. Today I had Kolten Braun aka "K-Dog" helping me and Capt. James Cunningham had his son Justing the last few days. Along with my son Stephen, the Fresh Princes of the Drift are heading to Capt. School this Fall. Yes, that should be interesting.

Lots of fun down here at the lodge, construction has finally seen the last nail driven and guests are enjoying some stunning detail. We hope when you get a chance to melt down that you will give us a shot. We'd love to have you.
