Sand Pocket Showdown

Castaway Lodge Seadrift Report

Sponsored by: Mercury Marine; Air Ranger Airboats; Haynie Bay Boats; Baysport Marine Victoria; Castaway Rods; JL Marine; Pure Fishing; and, Bob's Machine Shop.

Fishing Scene

Schooling reds have been tightening up here lately offering our guests a blistering look at this premier fishery. Fast action and quick limits has had it's advantages as rain has been a daily occurence with lots of it. We've got a lot of water in the bays and the fish have pushed ultra shallow over sand and grass pockets. I don't see this changing until we get some type of retreat in water levels.

Teal Season

What a great run for our guests with Capt. Jake Huddleston and crew doing an excellent job keeping the barrels warm. All eyes are on the big duck and goose season and we've been making preperations for that for some time now. If Teal Season is any indication of what we're in for, I think it's going to be awesome!

Alligator Season

This will be drawing to a close tomorrow at sundown and we've been on a hot streak here lately. We are still looking for a really trophy class gator for a client and we'll see what happens. All in all it was a productive window of opportunity on some of mother natures most fascinating creatures.
